Event Description:
There will still be renovations and additions going on for a while longer at Old Town Cameron, but the public is cordially invited to attend a National Train Day Open House on May 12th!
Lemonade and cookies will be served, the event is free, but we appreciate your donations!
Since January, volunteers have been working carefully and diligently to upgrade John Johnson's creation, the miniature model of Cameron, and known affectionately as Old Town Cameron. Volunteers received over $2,000 in grants and donations to make these repairs possible.
Old Town Cameron has been registered with the Lone Star Division of the National model Railroad Association and is a part of their Model Railroad Directory. Old Town Cameron, the Historical Museum, and the Historic Jail are vital keys to bring tourism to Cameron, and we look forward to sharing this wonderful history and updates to our visitors and local residents!
