Welcome to the 4th Annual "Steak"Tober Fest in historic downtown Cameron, Texas.
Cameron Chamber of Commerce and Working for Cameron are hosting a "Steak"Tober Fest featuring 44 Farms Ribeye Steaks in the Steak Cookoff Association competition. Working for Cameron is sanctioned by the SCA and the winner of the Steak Cookoff will win an invitation to complete in the championship cookoff. 50 Steak Cookers are anticipated to participate.
In addition, the Chamber of Commerce will be selling 44 Farms Ribeye Steak Dinner tickets, with baked potato, salad, homemade bread, homemade dessert and tea/water. Your steaks will be prepared by a Chef from YO Ranch Steakhouse. Tickets are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce 254-697-4979 or email steaktoberfest@cameron-tx.com to purchase tickets.
44 Farms will be on site with 44 Farms Products, demonstrations and information about their Angus Beef operation located in Milam County, a family operation since 1909.
Included in the festival, Artist's will have pottery, stain glass, paintings, metal and wood work, jewelry, homemade breads and other artisans with art for sale.
Wineries will set up booths for your sipping enjoyment with wine pairing and history of their vineyards, to add to the enjoyment of the day's events.
All genres of music will be on all corners of the square, from Polka, to country, rock n roll, jazz and bluegrass. Event will help kick off the Haunted House early opening at 8PM that evening.
The Milam County Historical Museums will all be open. Speakers are scheduled at the Main Museum on E 1st street, Judge Ed Magre will present Crazy Horse, A Sketch, and Steve Young will present The History of San Andres Masonic Lodge in Cameron.
The Milam County Historical Commission will help kick off Texas Archaeology Awareness Month with a presentation by Sergio Iruegas titled "Rancheria Grande Discovered: Pathway between Spanish Tejas and the American Revolution. Mr. Iruegas is a direct lineal descendant of 18th century Spanish Colonial officers and soldiers. He will speak at 4pm at the Museum.
The Milam County Historical Jail will be open along with Old Town Cameron miniature replica of 1940's with trainings running during the day.
Randy Billingsley is scheduled with Tales of Texas History on the courthouse lawn, he'll be dressed in buckskins, and bringing his canon, so come join us and listen to his stories.
