2018 Milam County Pecan Show
The Milam County Extension Office, in cooperation with the Milam County Extension Pecan Committee will be holding the annual Pecan Show on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Extension Office.
This years Pecan Show will also include a Pecan Management Workshop held from 11:00am to 1:30pm. The workshop will include a Pecan Pest Management presentation followed by a Pecan Grafting Methods Demonstration. Lunch will be provided, but only to those that RSVP in advance. Pecan entries must be turned in by 9:00am on Thursday, November 29, 2018 to the Milam County Extension Office. Forty-two pecans of the same variety from this year’s crop in a plastic zip-top bag comprise an entry. This is an excellent opportunity to have your pecans identified by variety and evaluated for quality of kernels. All Milam County pecan growers are urged to enter this year’s Pecan Show. Judging of the pecans will be at 9:00am on Friday, November 30th by Bill Ree, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Program Specialist, IPM (Pecan).
